Start here — Exness & MetaTrader 5 (demo)

A practical path for beginners: register with Exness, install MT5, create a demo account, log in, then place a tiny gold (XAUUSD) buy on demo.

  1. 1. Register an Exness account

    Use the button below to open the Exness registration page (affiliate). Complete email verification and any identity checks requested. You need an Exness account before you can create a MetaTrader login and demo credentials.

  2. 2. Download MetaTrader 5

    Desktop: download MetaTrader 5 from the official MetaQuotes site and install it. Mobile: install the app named "MetaTrader 5" from the App Store or Google Play. You will log in with the Exness credentials from your Exness account (steps 3–4), not a separate MetaQuotes-only account.

  3. 3. Create a demo account

    Log in to Exness Personal Area (web or Exness app). Go to Accounts → New account → choose Demo → MetaTrader 5. Note the server name (e.g. Exness-MT5Trial or similar) and your demo login and password. Keep them private.

  4. 4. Log in to MetaTrader 5 with demo

    Open MetaTrader 5. Use File → Login to Trade Account, or enter details on the first screen. Server: paste or select the exact Exness demo server name from your Exness email. Login and password: from step 3. Press Login — you should see balance in demo currency in the Terminal.

  5. 5. Buy XAUUSD 0.01 on demo

    Open Market Watch (Ctrl+M on desktop). If XAUUSD is missing: right-click Market Watch → Symbols → Metals → add XAUUSD and show. Double-click XAUUSD (or New Order). Set Volume to 0.01 lots. Confirm order type is market execution. Click Buy. The position appears under Terminal → Trade. Close when you want — practice only; no profit goal.
